Richard has spent 30 years in a variety of management roles across various industries. Despite being degree qualified in social sciences and professionally qualified in social work and psychology/therapy, he has managed and led both award winning hospitality and holiday businesses and operations on land and at sea, in the UK and abroad. Along the way he worked as a professional entertainer for several years, a radio presenter for various local and national stations, (award winning again!), and even managed a seaside pier and theatre! Must explain his love of the sea and all things ‘water’! He however returned to the health and social care profession 15 years ago and has worked all over the UK for both national care companies and smaller independent providers. Arriving in Stafford in March 2018, (along with his better half, 2 dog and 2 cats!), Richard joined Knights Care in September as Operations Manager, and is delighted to now be managing Abbey Court.
Abbey Court is a care home providing personal and nursing care for up to 52 elderly people, including care for people with physical disabilities.

Your professionalism, support, and care meant so much and helped my Aunt feel safe
Your kindness shows love to those people who have nobody to lover them
Since my husband came to Drovers Call his care has been impeccable, and his behaviour has improved so much. Staff are all very well trained and meet his every need. Drovers Call is spotlessly clean and the food is wonderful.
Thank you for welcoming dad when he needed a bit more care, it was great to see him smile again.
Thank you so much for the love and care you showed Mum in the last 5 years. The last few months have been especially difficult for everyone but the love and attention you all gave to Mum made it more bearable. Knowing how comfortable you made Mum feel helped me cope enormously.
Thank you for all your help through the years. I know Mum really loved her stays and always looked forward to her visits. When she became full time I was grateful for your care and for the kindness that you always showed her. Thank you for everything.
I just wanted to say how pleased we are that Mam seems to be settling nicely. We are so pleased with the care she gets from all of your wonderful staff - especially as we live so far away. We tried to keep continuity by leaving her at mealtimes as I know she needs encouragement to mix, but as you can see from the photo we took her to the tea dance which she loved!
