We are delighted to share that Drovers Call Care Home is now a CQC ‘Good’ rated home.
Between the 25 June to 29 July, 2024 inspectors from the CQC completed their assessments and we are proud to say that we received green across all of the areas looked at. The inspectors found that:
✅There were safe levels of staffing observed during the visits
✅Safeguarding processes were being followed
✅People’s needs had been assessed and incorporated into the care plans
✅People were supported with kindness and dignity
✅Professionals in health and social care all gave positive feedback about the improvements in the service environment, care practice, records, atmosphere, and outcomes for people
The home has put an outstanding amount of work in since it’s last inspection in 2023, introducing a new home manager, the refurbishment of their outdoor space to a sensory garden for residents, an upgraded activities programme, staff promotions, a new employee recognition programme amongst other amazing changes.
Since Sheila Mitchell’s takeover as Home Manager back in April, the positive changes and improvements within the home are evident within the CQC inspection report. It states that “people, their relatives and staff now felt involved and included in changes and understood why they were needed. They spoke very highly of the new registered manager and the new approaches in place”
We also cannot give enough praise to each staff member within the home. Residents of Drovers would not be enjoying the caring and fulfilling lives they have without our dedicated staff. In the inspection, residents told inspectors that their needs were met by a caring and competent staff team, and they felt safe and able to speak up. Another resident gave the feedback that “I know I’m safe here. I have had some serious problems, some of which I brought on myself and without the staff here, I wouldn’t be alive. I feel they care about me which is better than being cared for.”
Well done to Drovers Call on this incredible achievement!
