WORKING AT KNIGHTS CARE
Sachu Suraj - Registered Nurse
Abbey Court - From Senior Carer to Registered Nurse
Sachu’s journey at Abbey Court began in June 2022 as a Senior Care Assistant. Her dream and promise to herself was to one day wear the blue nursing uniform. Fast forward to 2024 and Sachu has accomplished those dreams and is now working as a registered nurse within the home.
The full management team at Abbey Court supported Sachu through the OSCE, a course that once passed enables staff to apply for their NMC pin, allowing them to commence work as a nurse in the UK.
Sandra Keeble, the Clinical Lead at Abbey Court, mentored her through this support programme, leading to Sachu beginning her career as a nurse on 29th July 2024.
In her own words:
“To complete my dream of becoming a nurse, the team at Abbey Court supported me from day one and always inspired and encouraged me. To have the wonderful team like I have with Knights Care, I am truly blessed. I thank the Home Manager Mandy, Deputy Manager Dan and Clinical Lead Sandra, as well as all of the staff and my family for supporting me through the programme, it brings a smile to my face every day putting on my blue uniform and knowing all that I have accomplished.”
Samantha - Training Facilitator
Ladysmith - From Care Assistant to Senior Care Assistant to Training Facilitator
Samantha joined the Ladysmith team in 2016 and has excelled in the home ever since. She goes above and beyond to do her best in everything she does and loves supporting her colleagues daily.
In her own words:
“Prior to working at Ladysmith Care Home, I had worked in care for 7 years and during this time I obtained my NVQ levels 2 & 3. I first came to work at Ladysmith Care Home in 2016 as a care assistant. In the first 6 months, after my induction and completing mandatory training I had a full time Senior Care Assistant position. During that time I worked on each of the units in the home ensuring I had good knowledge on all of the residents. As well as the many different residents I have had the pleasure to meet and care for, there has been opportunity to work alongside the Ladysmith team, who over the years I have become very close to. At the beginning of last year (2023), the position for a new training facilitator became available within the home. I was eager to apply for this role as I felt that I had so much to offer the home, the company and care profession. Fortunately I was offered the position and transitioned to this new role in September 2023. Since then my manager has enrolled me onto several courses to help broaden my knowledge and help me excel in this new and exciting position”
