Respite Care

What is Respite Care?

Caring for a loved one at home can be rewarding but as day-to-day life unfolds, sometimes there is a need for families to avail of a care home for a short-term stay for their loved one, known as respite. Respite can be arranged in a variety of planned or unplanned circumstances such as unexpected emergencies, competing priorities, time constraints or it may be a case of the individual in need of care and the caregiver at home simply needing a break from each other.

Benefits of short stays and Respite Care

  • Depending on the circumstances and an individual’s needs, a respite stay can range from one to a few weeks.
  • Respite care is provided by caring well – trained staff who are committed to making even the short stays at our homes a positive experience.
  • Taking a break from routine can do the world of good, allowing family carers to recharge and focus on other things knowing their loved one is comfortable and well looked after.
  • Reassurance that your loved one is receiving 24-hour care in a safe and equipped environment.
