Sometimes, a simple gesture can mean the world. Amelia is a brave young girl who, though not local to us, has captured hearts around the nation through her heartfelt appeal. Diagnosed with stage 4 neuroblastoma in 2020, she endured 23 months of intensive treatment, including chemotherapy, immunotherapy, radiotherapy, and high-dose chemotherapy. After reaching a period of stability, her cancer returned twice, despite participating in clinical trials. Now receiving palliative care, Amelia has made a simple but powerful wish: to receive 8,000 birthday cards for her upcoming birthday.
To help bring Amelia’s wish to life, Knights Care Group shared her appeal across all of our care homes. Staff, residents, and their families have been coming together to create cards, each one helping Amelia get closer to her goal and making her birthday truly special. Every card carries a message of hope, love, and encouragement—a gentle reminder that, even from afar, she is surrounded by kindness and support.
