Each puzzle takes Janine around two weeks to finish, and every completed piece is a moment of pride for her. She loves sharing her work with staff and fellow residents, and her happiness is truly contagious. This year, inspired by her dedication, the team at Abbey Court decided to frame her completed jigsaws and display them around the ground floor of the home. The result has been wonderful—her artwork has not only brightened up the home beautifully, they have become a talking point for residents, staff, and visitors alike.
Janine, who has a mild learning disability, is incredibly proud of her achievements, and we are just as proud of her. Her dedication reminds us how important it is for care home residents to stay connected with the hobbies and passions they love. Activities like her jigsaw puzzles not only bring a sense of purpose and achievement, but also spark conversation, creativity, and happiness throughout the home. By supporting and celebrating these personal interests, residents continue to thrive, feel valued, and stay true to the things that make them uniquely themselves.
