TO ALL OUR FRIENDS AND FAMILIES

I am writing to update you on our next steps, and how we will continue to keep our residents and our homes safe, and as protected as possible over the next three months.

Everyone at Knights Care has worked tirelessly to ensure the safety of all our residents throughout this pandemic, and with great success. I am sure you would join me in thanking our amazing, dedicated staff team for all their ongoing efforts.

Whilst it is in some ways a relief to see the lockdown increasingly being eased, we must be mindful that COVID-19 has not gone away and has certainly not been eradicated. It remains widespread across the country, continuing to represent a significant risk to the most vulnerable in our society, and to our residents and those who care for them.

Essential precautions remain in place nationally – face coverings, social distancing, ‘track and tracing’ potentially leading to a period of quarantine, and so on. It is right that we strive to protect our people in the same way.

We have consistently followed and indeed based many of our decisions and planning on the most up to date local and national guidance, data and risk assessments, and we continue to do so.

The most recent definitive guidance issued just a few days ago by the Care Providers’ Alliance, (in association with, and recognised by the government and national health protection bodies), has been invaluable to us in making further significant judgements.

As such, we will maintain our current policy of ‘safely managed access’ to our homes for the foreseeable future. We will of course keep you up to date should anything change and follow the most up to date national and local guidance.

We will continue of course to do everything possible to keep you and your loved ones connected via ‘face time calls’, ‘face to face’ visits, social media and more. For further details of all these options, please speak to the team in your home.

Our overriding priority is, and will always be to provide outstanding, dignified care, protecting the health, safety, and wellbeing of our residents and staff teams, I know you want that too.

If I, or any of our head office team, home managers or their colleagues can assist at any time, please get in touch. We will all be pleased to do so. Thank you for your patience and understanding, we could not do this without your support.

Yours Sincerely,
